Survivor: Madagascar was the tenth season of Survivor. 

The season ended when Caroline won the title of Sole Survivor, beating Wade and Angelo by a 4-3-0 jury vote at the Final Tribal Council. The season featured 18 contestants dubbed as "castaways" marooned on three separate beaches on the Madagascaran island. They were divided into three tribes: Esamasa in yellow, Zymanz in purple, and Fo Rant in orange. On Day 22, the two tribes merged into the green Iltmimi tribe (acronym for "I like to move it move it". 

The main twist this season was the casting of only 18 Survivors. Producers made this decision in an attempt to make the seasons more managable. Furthermore, they hoped the division into 3 tribes would facilitate the creation of strong alliances. For the first time in the show's history, a jury of seven formed, as opposed to a jury of nine. This allowed for greater pre-merge tribal battles. 

The hidden immunity idol was not used. 

Outcast Island returned for the fifth consecutive season in the same style as the previous season. This season's Outcast Island received negative reviews, primarily because the returnee got voted out in the subsequent episode and therefore did not get her "second chance." Producers promised the next season (Africa) to be the last to have Outcast Island. 

The most popular--and famous--contestant this season was Wade Brooks, hwo immediately labeled himself as the villain. He single-handedly obliterated his tribe to appear as a weak underdog and manipulated Zymanz and Fo Rant members into taking him to the end. Wade fell one vote shy of being crowned Sole Survivor, but he would return many times as "Survivor's most Villainous Player."

• Since Captain and Wade were the last two remaining members of Esamasa, they had to compete in a fire-making challenge in lieu of a Tribal Council vote off. Wade won and Captain was sent to Outcast Island.
