Survivor: Philippines was the fourteenth season of Survivor.
The season ended when Landon won the title of Sole Survivor, beating Pola and Benry by a 4-1-1 jury vote at the Final Tribal Council. The season featured 18 contestants dubbed as "castaways" marooned on two separate beaches in the Philippines. They were divided into two tribes: Igbon in red and Zamboanga in black. The tribes were named after cities in the Philippines. On Day 20, the tribes merged into the green Tagalog tribe.
The hidden immunity idol returned, but only one was used. It was hidden during the first challenge and was found by Husky. However, Husky never played it and was the first to be voted out with an idol in his pocket.
In Episode 8, when Blacka was eliminated, the strategic planning behind Benry and Charlotte's blindside was dubbed "the most strategic move in Survivor history" during the Winners vs. All-Stars public survey.
The most notorious moment of the season occured during episode 13 when, during the immunity challenge, Lio viciously tackled Charlotte and snapped her elbow. Charlotte was immediately evacuated and Lio was the first Survivor contestant disqualified. Charlotte joined the jury, but Lio was permanently removed from the game. He did not attend the Reunion either. Charlotte became the first person to be medically evacuated. She returned nearly fifty seasons later, where she placed first.
This season is often credited with giving Survivor the best of the best, Benry. Benry immediately emerged in the game as a strategic player. Benry formed a tight alliance with Husky on the Zamboanga tribe. However, when the tribe blindsided Husky, Benry quickly made side alliances to ensure his own safety. He aligned with Charlotte and the two utterly demolished the tribe when Blacka was eliminated. Benry tried to align with Landon at the merge, but Landon was set on getting Lio out. When the disqualification incident occurred, Benry was scolded for aligning with Lio. Landon, however, was hailed for successfully targeting the "monster." Landon played the sympathetic side to the jury and was awarded the title of Sole Survivor over Benry and Pola. Benry, however, returned as an All-Star in the following season, and won. Benry then returned for Tonga as a mentor. He won that season as well. When he returned for a third time in Heroes vs. Villains, Benry won for the third time, making him the only person to do so. His last appearance, Dodranscentennial nearly 60 seasons after his original run, Benry won for the fourth time.
